Find Montgomery County Release Dates

A Montgomery County projected release date depends on the kind of custody and the legal stage of the case. A pretrial jail detainee usually has no fixed date because release turns on the court and any remaining hold. A sentenced county inmate may have a calculation based on the judgment and local custody credit. A state prisoner has separate projected parole and discharge fields maintained by Illinois corrections. To learn when someone will be released, identify the custodian first, then read a forecast apart from an actual release event. Dates can change, so confirmation must come from the responsible agency.

Montgomery Release Dates Compared

A projected date is a forecast based on information available when the agency calculates it. An actual release date records an event that has occurred. Illinois corrections uses more precise labels: Projected Parole Date anticipates a transition from prison, Last Paroled Date records a past prison exit, and Projected Discharge Date anticipates the end of the sentence and legal custody. One person can therefore have a past parole date and a later projected discharge date without any contradiction.

Scheduled versus actual: A projected date does not confirm release. Look for a historical event field, agency discharge record, or release notice.

A person awaiting trial at Montgomery County Jail normally has no sentence-based release date. A court can order pretrial release, change conditions, dismiss a count, or issue another order, while a separate case or hold may keep custody in place. The court order explains authority, but the sheriff's discharge or transfer timestamp records what happened at the jail.

Transfer also matters. A person leaving Montgomery County Jail for Graham Correctional Center or another custodian has not entered the community. Likewise, moving out of Graham's Reception and Classification Center may be an IDOC institutional transfer. Name the facility and read the event label before calling any date a release.

Lookup Montgomery County Release Dates

The correct search route follows the custodian. Graham and every other Illinois state prison use IDOC. Montgomery County Jail uses the sheriff and the Fourth Judicial Circuit record. A federal or immigration case requires a different system and should not be forced into an Illinois corrections search.

  1. Identify the last known facility and decide whether it is Montgomery County Jail, Graham or another IDOC prison, federal custody, or ICE.
  2. For IDOC, open the Illinois offender search and search by surname, IDOC number, or birthdate.
  3. Read Projected Parole Date, Last Paroled Date, Projected Discharge Date, Offender Status, Location, and every sentence count together.
  4. For the county jail, obtain the sentencing or release order from the Circuit Clerk, then ask jail information at 217-532-9514 for the discharge or transfer channel.
  5. Resolve conflicts with the agency calculation and the controlling court order. Do not calculate from an arrest charge alone.

The Montgomery County released-inmate record path gives the wider sequence for a person whose custodian is uncertain. It is especially useful when a jail transfer later creates an IDOC record.

Illinois Sentence Credit Rules

The state framework appears in 730 ILCS 5/3-6-3. It is specific to the offense, conviction, sentence, and controlling dates. Some listed first-degree murder and terrorism provisions receive no sentence credit and require full service. Certain enumerated violent, firearm, and other offenses generally permit no more than 4.5 credit days per month, often summarized as roughly 85 percent served. Some specified drug and gunrunning provisions may permit 7.5 credit days per month, while other qualifying sentences may receive one day of credit for one day served.

Those shorthand percentages are not formulas for a person. Offense dates, conviction offenses, statutory exclusions, sentence counts, program-credit eligibility, minimum floors, and later changes all matter. An arrest label is not enough. IDOC's current projected field is safer than arithmetic drawn from a docket, but it is still a forecast.

The IDOC FAQ says an Earned Sentence Credit revision is communicated to the person and reflected on the public profile. Court corrections, disciplinary credit loss or restoration, and recalculation can also change the displayed estimate. Written IDOC confirmation is the best answer for a date tied to an individual record.

County-jail credit is separate. The Montgomery jail inspection refers to a County Jail Good Behavior Allowance framework, but no public Montgomery formula was verified. IDOC's percentage shorthand must not be applied to a county sentence. Obtain the judgment, custody-credit order, and sheriff calculation instead.

Why Montgomery Release Dates Move

A date can move because the legal or factual inputs changed. A past forecast should never be treated as proof of release when Last Paroled Date is blank or the location still shows custody.

FactorPossible effect
Earned credit updateIDOC may revise a projected field after eligible sentence credit posts.
Credit loss or restorationDisciplinary action or later restoration can move the forecast.
Court correction or new orderAn amended sentence, custody-credit ruling, or other order can require recalculation.
Another sentence countOne discharged count does not end custody if another count remains active.
Warrant or detainerThe scheduled end of one custody basis may lead to transfer rather than community release.
Parole or revocation actionA Board or supervision event may alter the custody path without changing the original conviction.

A projected parole date in the past with no Last Paroled Date is still not a release record. IDOC may have recalculated the date, another count may control, or the display may need confirmation. Contact IDOC rather than converting the old estimate into a historical claim.

Confirm Montgomery County Release Dates

For a state-prison date, compare the public IDOC profile with written information from IDOC Constituent Services or a narrow records request. IDOC can be reached at 217-558-2200, and Constituent Services lists weekday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The public search changes quickly and can lose a record after sentence and parole are fully complete.

For a county sentence, the Circuit Clerk record supplies the sentence and relevant orders. Montgomery County Jail supplies the actual discharge or transfer entry. Ask which field reflects the maintained timestamp and whether the outcome was community discharge or transfer to another agency. No official local weekend or holiday early-release rule was found.

A Montgomery County VINE inmate check can provide notice of an agency-supplied event, but VINE is not the final record. A transfer alert requires following the next custodian. A release alert should be reconciled with the sheriff or IDOC record.

Note: A court sentence, an agency forecast, and a physical departure timestamp answer different questions and may legitimately carry different dates.

Three Illinois Release Date Fields

Montgomery County searches are unusually prone to mixing local jail and state-prison terms because Graham Correctional Center is in Hillsboro. IDOC's three date labels prevent that error. Projected Parole Date is a forecast of prison exit. Last Paroled Date is historical evidence that a parole or mandatory supervised release event occurred. Projected Discharge Date concerns the later anticipated end of the sentence and legal custody.

A profile can show Last Paroled Date and a future Projected Discharge Date. That usually means physical prison release occurred while supervision continues. It should be described in two parts, not collapsed into one date. If multiple sentence blocks appear, each `Sentence Discharged?` field also matters. A “Yes” on one count does not prove that all counts ended.

The public IDOC released-supervision result format demonstrates the date fields used on a live profile.

IDOC Montgomery County projected parole and discharge date fields

The visible labels show why a projected prison exit, a past parole event, and final discharge must remain separate in a Montgomery County release date lookup.

If a projected parole date has passed but Last Paroled Date remains blank, the forecast does not establish a release. Credit loss, another sentence count, disciplinary action, a court order, a detainer, or a revised calculation may explain the result. IDOC should interpret its calculation. Public users should not turn a stale forecast into a claim that the person left Graham or another institution.

A county-jail case requires a different kind of verification. The Fourth Judicial Circuit docket may show a sentence, custody credit, dismissal, pretrial order, warrant, or later modification. It does not always record the exact moment Montgomery County Jail processed departure. Ask the sheriff for the maintained discharge or transfer timestamp and use the court order to explain the legal basis.

Detainers can also create two valid dates. Montgomery County custody may end when another county, IDOC, federal authorities, or ICE assumes custody. The first timestamp is a transfer out of the jail, not community release. The receiving system must supply its own later release date. Keeping those custodians separate prevents a false promise about when someone will arrive home.

IDOC warns that public profile information changes quickly and recommends written confirmation. A narrow IDOC records request can seek the admission, release, parole, discharge, and public docket-card fields for the identified person and date range. If the public profile later disappears after final discharge, the written response provides a more durable account than a saved projection alone.

Written confirmation is also useful when an earned-credit update has not yet appeared online. Provide the IDOC number, full name, birthdate, and the date field that needs explanation. Ask the agency to distinguish a forecast from an actual parole, release, or final-discharge event rather than requesting a new calculation from public data.

Montgomery Date Source Check

For a county-jail date, begin with the Montgomery County Sheriff, read the order through the Circuit Clerk, and use the official Montgomery case search when it exposes the relevant docket. None of those county paths replaces IDOC for a Graham sentence.
